4-H Program Happenings
Despite the pandemic, our 4-H’ers are persevering. We thank all 4-H volunteers for making our program work with virtual meetings and limited in person, outdoor meetings.
Here are some examples of us in person and at outdoor animal related project meetings.

You can see our 4-H’ers’ lambs, goats, steers, rabbits, chickens and other exhibits at the San Mateo County Fair in June.
Here are some of our upcoming events:
- March 13 – County Presentation Event is where are youth are given the opportunity to showcase their knowledge in any subject of their choosing or practice their interview skills.
- Coming in April – Archery at Elkus Ranch. We will be hosting our countywide archery project at Elkus Ranch. Youth ages 9 and up will learn how to safely operate and maintain archery equipment and practice shooting at targets. This project is designed for both beginners and advanced archers.
- May 15 – Favorite Foods Day will give our youth opportunity to showcase their favorite foods. Unfortunately, this year the judges will not taste the food, but will still evaluate the recipe, table setting and the presentation. There will also be a food photo contest. Check out the photos in the next newsletter.
