Succulent Wreath Holiday Workshop
Beautiful succulent wreaths are perfect to spruce up your holiday decorations or as a handmade, personalized gift! Succulents come in an array of types and colors; it's easy to create an eye-pleasing combination of textures and hues that are long-lasting and require little water or maintenance.
Join us at the Belmont Library for this hands-on, outdoor workshop for adults! We'll provide an 11-inch moss circular wreath form, a variety of succulents, and all the tools you need. You'll leave with a beautiful piece of living art and tips on how to keep your wreath looking its best. We'll also discuss the basic principles of succulent care and propagation, so once your wreath is ready for transplant, you'll be prepared to pop them into a container, directly into your garden, or reuse them as a new wreath. But most importantly, you'll learn how to keep them healthy and beautiful for years to come.
Presenter Master Gardener Sharon Winnike: Sharon has been a volunteer UC Master Gardener since 2010 and has been active in the establishment of the UC Master Gardener Gardening Education Center and speaker series. Her personal garden features oak trees and shade plants, edibles, a succulent garden, container gardens and, of course, a variety of succulent wreaths!
Presenter Master Gardener Yana Maloney: Yana has been a Master Gardener since 2018. For the last 25 years, she has kept a vegetable garden and 16 grafted fruit trees at her home in Burlingame. Yana enjoys grafting, experimenting, and being able to grow different varieties of fruits and vegetables on a very narrow lot. Yana also fell in love with succulents years ago. She grows, propagates, and uses them in decorating her garden and home.
