UC Master Gardener Presenter Cathrin Callas: Cathrin joined the UC Master Gardener program in 2022 after retiring from a career in engineering. A California native, her life-long love of flowering plants includes a particular interest in California native plants. As a fundamentally lazy gardener, she likes sheet mulching because with a small amount of initial effort, nature will do the hard work of killing weeds and improving the soil. She currently lives and gardens in San Carlos.
