A few of his notable accomplishments, which are far too many to list, include; starting the 4-H Youth Program in our counties, expanding the Food and Nutrition programs with an emphasis on serving minorities and low income groups, and coordinating the donation of Elkus Ranch to the University of California.
Hank received the Alumni Citation for Excellence in 1988 from the California Aggie Alumni Association for his many contributions.
An excerpt from his obituary:
"Hank worked for many decades on the California coastside as a farm advisor and county director for the University of California Cooperative Extension, then later as a consultant for Nurserymen’s Exchange in Half Moon Bay. He also worked with 4-H, served on numerous agricultural and land-use committees and boards, and wrote many agricultural publications." (full obituary)
Hank will be missed by many but his legacy and work will live on for generations to come.
